I grew up on a dairy farm in rural Manitoba – so my biggest take away from life back then is work, work, work,” she says with a laugh. “That’s what we did as farmers! Up early before sunrise – milking cows and doing chores. Jen learned at an early age the value and importance of hard work.

“My dad took great pride in his farm, and he took that place from literally nothing and turned it into one of the most successful farms around,” she proudly adds. He even ended up featured in a Farming Magazine!  From his start with no running water!

This dedication and commitment to excellence has stayed with her throughout her now adult life. Today, Jennifer is an established and award-winning real estate professional committed, as she says, “To providing the utmost in service and performance for each of my clients.

I always strive to provide the best, most professional, most knowledgeable service possible, and I will always perform to the best of my abilities.”

Jennifer currently works for Keller Williams Real Estate: “They have an office in Winnipeg, Niverville and a new location OPENING SOON in this area!  So, lots of growth and expansion going on.”

Jennifer has 3 AMAZING children, Tasiya is the oldest – she is 27 and works for Golden West Broadcasting in Steinbach; Lofton is 26, he drives truck for his dad’s company in Kleefeld, Barkman’s Cartage Ltd.; her youngest daughter Raejha is 24 and she works locally at Chinos Bistro and Sunshine Greenhouse (and has the BEST singing voice ever heard!)

After She was a proud stay at home mom for 10 years she decided to “flip houses” with her sister Val for several years and enjoyed that very much. “We were the only ‘female contractors’ walking in the back door at EG Penner Building Center – that always felt great,” she laughs.

a career in real estate continued to beckon: “I had a friend named Curt Reimer, and I owe my real estate career to him,” she states.   “He was a local realtor here in Steinbach and as I was flipping houses with my sister, he kept telling me ‘Jen, you need to get your license and sell real estate’ and I just kept saying no! “I loved working with my sister every day we had so much fun! Laughing all day and taking old places and making them amazing,” she goes on to say. “However, one day he got me my first module and literally I was ‘forced’ to do it!   And I owe him eternally! I took my real estate course in 2009 and started my now career 14 years ago in 2010!   ZERO REGRESTS! Best thing I could have ever done!”

Jen met her husband, Tim, right here in Steinbach: “How I managed to score the hottest bachelor in Steinbach is still beyond me,” she says with a big smile and a wink! “We met in 2011- and were married in 2013. A fun fact: we were engaged a mere three weeks. I chuckle when I think about it because it wasn’t really an engagement as much as it was a chat!  What do you do in a 1 year engagement anyway?

While Jen loves her career, her love for the lake calls all year long! “I loved kayaking, snowmobiling, fires, friends, and all things lake life,  at my cottage at Falcon Lake!   I do  LOVE cooking; leave me in the kitchen for weeks and I would be living my best life ever!   “I have a huge passion for culinary,” she adds. “If I could just cook meals and bring them to people who need them every day; that would be my dream life!  I love giving in that way. My kitchen is a revolving door every day – kids are texting ‘got anything I can come grab to eat?’ and it’s rare that the answer is no. I am known as the “basket ingredient queen! Just throw me a few items and I am sure to come up with something unique and delicious and that,  makes my heart happy! Knowing my kids can bring friends over at ANYTIME and there will always be more than enough food to go around is something I hope to be remembered by!

She says that she and her family has a simple but important philosophy toward life: “Don’t judge anyone” – you never know what someone is going through – everyone has a story, so be KIND, give where ever you can, see a need, and meet it!

When talking about her relationships with clients, Jen states with firmness: “I have SO many clients that were strangers when we met that are now fully my friends in my circle! That is to the best feeling in the world!”

“I’m proud to be the real estate agent of choice for those who want a great experience buying or selling a home.
